The NFL’s Official Betting Partnerships

The NFL has teamed up with sportsbooks to bring their gambling content to fans. The league has struck a multiyear agreement with DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars Entertainment. The deals give these companies exclusive access to NFL content. They also pave the way for betting content to be featured on the NFL Network this fall.

The NFL says its ideal sports gambling legislation would include substantive licensing requirements, clear markets, and consumer protection. The league would provide data for bets to make sure the outcome of the game is fair. It would also prohibit insider betting and place the onus on the operators to prevent it. But before any of this legislation can be implemented, it must gain the support of 32 team owners. The owners are split into four groups.

While some of the official betting partnerships are one-off deals, most of them are large portfolios of relationships. DraftKings is one of the industry’s market leaders and has recently agreed to a plethora of partnerships. These deals strengthen DraftKings’ presence across several states. But what will the future hold for golf betting?

The official betting rules vary from sportsbook to sportsbook. Some void bets if a game is canceled. DraftKings, for example, requires a game to be rescheduled within 36 hours after a bet was placed. Another example is the BetMGM rule that says a bet is official after five innings or 4.5 innings of play if the home team is leading.
