When betting on sports, it’s important to be able to separate your emotions from the outcome of each game. The best way to do this is to be disciplined and make sure you never bet more than you can afford to lose. In addition, be sure to keep track of your bets (preferably in a spreadsheet) and only bet on games that you’re familiar with from a rules perspective. It’s also helpful to keep an eye on player and coach news before placing any bets, as many lines will be adjusted based on new information.
The official result declared by the governing body for each sport is final for settlement purposes unless otherwise stated in the Market Rules or bet type terms. This can include podium positions in motor races, medal ceremonies in athletics, and similar official events that are ratified by the governing bodies.
In baseball, all wagers on money line bets, totals, and run lines will have action unless noted otherwise. For example, a game must go nine innings to have action on the Over/Under totals. However, if the game is called early because of a mercy rule, all bets will stand and any bets that have already been settled will be honored.
For hockey, all bets on puck lines will have action unless otherwise noted. For example, a puck line will have action if the game goes into overtime or shootout, but won’t have action if it ends in a tie.
